to get the date/time that you want.

Refund Policy

If we have to cancel due to weather conditions, we will call or text, and/or email at least 3 hours prior to your launch time. You may then reschedule at your convenience or receive a refund. If you need to cancel your appointment, we require you to call or text at least one hour before your designated time.

Weight Limit

Single Person Kayaks: 275 lbs.

Tandem Kayaks: 450 lbs

What About the Wind?

We probably have to cancel and reschedule more tours due to wind as opposed to rain.  Our typical threshold of safety cutoff point is somewhere between 12-13 mph depending on the direction of the wind. We always try to give at least a 3 hour notice by text, phone call and/or email to save a wasted trip.

We use the following sites for making the final go/no go call. Take a look on the morning of your tour to see what might be in store. Higher winds mean wetter, rougher rides.

Festival of Lights Tour: Each year Moody Gardens puts on a Christmas light "Festival of Lights" extravaganza. Come take a moonlight ride with us to get a waterside view.  No Self-Guided Tours. Minimum age: 16

Sunset Cruise:  We leave the dock about two hours before sunset and we will get out to the bay about the time the sun begins its evening show. Bring your favorite beverage and we'll toast the end of another beautiful island day.

"We did the Sunset Kayak tour with my mom (68) and two teens. It was fabulous! So Fun & easy - no tipping over, not hard at all on our mini-arm-muscles!! We saw Texas Flamingos, oysters, herron, fish & crabs. Very relaxing and gorgeous sunset over the water. We will be back!"   ( Visited June 2015)

Birdwatching Tour: Our island is in the migratory path of many of the birds traveling through North, South, and Central America. Some of those traveling north make their first stop in Galveston while those headed south use us as a final rest stop. Others provide us glimpses of their beauty year round.

"We had a great time! Julie was very patient and shared her knowledge of the bay as we enjoyed nature at it's own level. We were pushed out of our comfort zone and got to see the island from a whole different view. Loved it."     ( October 2015)

Wetlands Tour: A relaxing ride around and through a wetlands area seeing some of the wildlife and getting a firsthand look at the local ecosystem.

"This was just such an amazing experience. It's so worth it come in out here and relaxing with the calm environment around you.  Great for couple dates or just family trips. Highly recommend this for everyone. Plus it is a great workout."                  (Andrea; July 2015)

Bay Tour: The expanse of the bay can be very relaxing to those hemmed in by the close quarters of daily living. We visit some oyster reefs and a mid-bay island and pass close to a pelican colony. This tour is often limited by wind.

"Mike was our kayak guide and he was great! Being local to the island he had many great facts and info to share My husband and I had never kayaked before either and with his guidance we both made it back in one piece! "  (August 2015)

"U-call-it":  If you don't see something you like, call us. We have worked with people for special events like birthdays or bachelor/bachelorette parties, school groups, "drop offs" (Several couples have asked to be dropped off on one of the islands/sandbars in the bay with chairs, a cooler and a bottle of wine to celebrate their anniversary as they watch the sunset), and we have had one proposal on one of our "U-call-it" tours -- She said YES!
